A former aide to President Trump’s campaign informed the House Judiciary Committee in a letter that he doesn’t plan to cooperate with their requests for documents or testimony, The Washington Post reported.
Michael Caputo, one of 81 associates of Trump contacted this week with document records from House Democrats, told the Post he informed the committee he doesn’t have any documents relevant to their inquiry and that he doesn’t plan to comply with their request to appear before the committee. At least four other Trump associates plan to follow his lead, Caputo told the Post.
“All four are reluctant to appear because they believe it’s a perjury trap designed to move toward impeachment of the president,” he told the Post.
