President Donald Trump seemed to hedge a bit on his months-long chant of “no obstruction, no collusion,” saying that the redacted Mueller report revealed “essentially no obstruction” during a bill signing Thursday.

This is a significant shift, as it shows that at least some of the realities of the redacted Mueller report have punctured the President’s bubble. Special counsel Robert Mueller cleared Trump of collusion, but said that he could not come to a conclusion on obstruction, in large part because he does not believe a sitting President can be indicted under Department of Justice policy. Mueller outlined nearly a dozen instances of potential obstruction by Trump.
