The President’s son, who was at the center of the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting with a Russian lawyer, celebrated not getting indicted on Fox News on Monday evening.
Donald Trump Jr. said it “feels great” that special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe is over, which was, in part, looking into whether he worked with Russia to get dirt on his father’s opponent, Hillary Clinton. He then went on to claim that the attorney general’s assessment of the Mueller’s report shows that it was Democrats “colluding, not us.”
“It feels great because I was a big part of all of this going on,” he told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson on Monday evening. “I’m the one that took the daily incoming, the nonsense. Now at the same time I’m also the person that was actually there, that was actually in the room. So I understand everything that went into it. I realized we didn’t do anything wrong. Certainly when you look at what the other side was doing, you realize it was them in fact colluding, not us.”
“We were doing a campaign,” he continued. “We were functioning like any campaign would. That’s what we did. So it was difficult to watch. It was difficult to watch what they’re trying to and have been trying to do to my father for two years.”

Mueller delivered his report from his two-year probe to the Department of Justice on Friday, ending of the investigation and signaling he would bring no further indictments. Many suspected Trump Jr.’s role in planning the Trump Tower meeting might get him an indictment from Mueller.
