Democrats worry that targeting President Donald Trump’s children will have political ramifications and hope to shift the brunt of that legal burden to federal prosecutors, according to a Wednesday Politico report.

They worry that targeting his family could earn Trump sympathy from onlookers.

By the same token, Trump’s children — particularly Ivanka, Donald Jr. and Eric — are so intertwined in his businesses and political career that it would be difficult to leave them out of the investigations altogether. Ivanka’s husband Jared Kushner is also clearly a significant person of interest.

The chairpeople of the most important House committees may try to put off calling the Trump children in to testify until absolutely necessary.
