President Trump’s remarks announcing a national emergency declaration to build a border war included a bizarre, sing-songy riff on the legal challenges the move will face. He’s planning on signing the national security declaration Friday.
“We will then be sued and they will sue us in the Ninth Circuit, even though it shouldn’t be there, and we will possibly get a bad ruling, and then we’ll get another bad ruling and and then we’ll end up in the Supreme Court and hopefully we’ll get a fair shake and we’ll win in the Supreme Court,” Trump said, with a certain rhythm like a tune.

He equated the coming legal battle to his fight to implement a travel ban, which the Supreme Court eventually blessed after he was forced to rework it twice due to lower court rulings against it.
“But we won on the ban and we won on other things, too,” Trump said.
