After four years of delighting in President Donald Trump’s unapologetically spiteful crusade to “own the libs,” conservatives are now suddenly scandalized by incivility after former Biden campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon, who will serve as President-elect Joe Biden’s White House deputy chief of staff, mentioned in explicit terms the difficulty of working with the GOP.
Dillon made the comment during an interview with Glamour on Tuesday as she was discussing Biden’s push for unity with Republicans despite the GOP obstructing Democrats at virtually every turn.
“In the primary, people would mock him, like, ‘You think you can work with Republicans?’ I’m not saying they’re not a bunch of fuckers. Mitch McConnell is terrible,” the Biden aide said. “But this sense that you couldn’t wish for that, you couldn’t wish for this bipartisan ideal? He rejected that.”
Conservatives, including people who work for the Trump campaign, were utterly aghast at Dillon’s rudeness:

Thank goodness civility and presidential behavior has finally returned to the White House. It's really incredible the Democrats were able to pull that off on the country. https://t.co/40otdix9TW

While @JoeBiden calls for “unity” his potty mouth incoming Deputy COS calls Conservatives (expletive) in mag interview. If Biden wants to spur a #Resist movement against his Admin alienating 1/2 the country is a good way to do it https://t.co/rLCEr2uPZJ #mapoli @senatemajldr @gop
