Former FBI Director James Comey urged Attorney General Bill Barr to “stop sliming” the Department of Justice in a tweet Friday night.
The AG should stop sliming his own Department. If there are bad facts, show us, or search for them professionally and then tell us what you found. An AG must act like the leader of the Department of Justice, an organization based on truth. Donald Trump has enough spokespeople.

Comey’s tweet comes on the heels of Barr leaning hard into President Trump’s tweeted screams to “investigate the investigators” — along with other repeated numerous talking points used by conservative ideologues — who he believes launched the Russia probe to undermine his candidacy.
Comey also had choice words for Trump’s Friday morning rant that his campaign was “conclusively spied on,” which he equated to “TREASON.”
The president claiming the FBI’s investigation was “TREASON“ reminds me that a Russian once said, “A lie told often enough becomes the truth.” That shouldn’t happen in America. Who will stand up?

This isn’t the first time Comey has knocked Barr and Trump’s “spying” claim. Last month Comey said it was “concerning” for Barr to suggest that “spying” on Trump’s campaign may have occurred at the outset of the Russia probe.
