Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI) said on Sunday that the House Judiciary Committee wants special counsel Robert Mueller testify on May 15.

“A tentative date has been set for May 15th, and we hope the special counsel will appear,” Cicilline, who is on the Judiciary committee, told Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday.”

When Wallace pressed Cicilline on whether Mueller had formally agreed to that date, the congressman said that Mueller’s “representative” had agreed to the date.

“Obviously until the day comes, we never have an absolute guarantee,” Cicilline responded.

Update: After this interview, Cicilline clarified that May 15 is merely the committee’s proposed date, and that “nothing has been agreed to yet.”
