NBC News special correspondent Tom Brokaw tweeted some oddly formatted apologies Sunday night after making widely panned comments about Hispanic people on Sunday’s “Meet the Press.”

On “Meet the Press,” Brokaw shared his opinion on assimilation he says he’s held “for a long time.”

“You know, they ought not to be just codified in their communities but make sure that all their kids are learning to speak English, and that they feel comfortable in the communities,” he said during the show “And that’s going to take outreach on both sides frankly,” he added, referring to Democrats and Republicans.
