John Boehner thinks that because people are living longer these days, it’s time to raise the retirement age to 70.
In an interview yesterday with the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Boehner addressed possible changes to entitlement programs like Social Security, and said that “we’re all living a lot longer than anybody ever expected,” and therefore “getting the retirement age to 70 is a step that needs to be taken.”
Boehner clarified that this would only be for people at least 20 years away from retiring.
