President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris are slated to return to Georgia in the days before the state’s Senate runoffs on January 5 to make the final push for Democratic candidates Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock, according to the Biden transition team.
Transition officials announced on Wednesday morning that Harris would be traveling to Savannah on January 3 before Biden stumps for Ossoff and Warnock in Atlanta the following day on the eve of the runoffs.
The plans mark Biden and Harris’ second round of visits to the Peach State ahead of the high-stakes elections that will flip the Senate blue should the Democrats defeat GOP incumbents Sens. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) and David Perdue (R-GA).
Biden’s visit falls on the same day as President Donald Trump’s rally in Georgia on behalf of Loeffler and Perdue in Dalton.
