Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) seems to be bowing to the realities of 2019 campaigning, filling his schedule with national television hits instead of his preferred coffee shops and informal town halls.

On “The Rachel Maddow Show” Monday night, he said that though he’s held 150 town halls during his two months in the race, he acknowledged that he “could do a better job” using bigger platforms to share his campaign message.

O’Rourke is also scheduled to appear on “The View” and a CNN town hall soon, pushed to get on TV after his poll numbers sagged in recent weeks.

He’s also professionalizing his campaign, installing some highly-sought-after Obama veterans in positions of prominence.
