A man masquerading as a Beto O’Rourke campaign worker was arrested for breaking into a home in Austin and stealing a popsicle.
According to the Austin-American Statesman, James Bradford Gibbon II was clad in Beto merch and slurping his frozen confection when a woman walked in on him lounging in her kitchen. Her son called 911.
While making the rounds and clutching the melting treat, Gibbon allegedly riffled through a wallet and briefcase and tried to break into an iPad.
He has been charged with burglary of a residence, a second-degree felony. The O’Rourke campaign confirmed that Gibbon was never in its employ.
