Rep. Justin Amash (I-MI), who left the GOP in July due to frustration with the party’s timid deference to President Donald Trump, jabbed at Republicans on Wednesday for attempting to obfuscate the shocking revelations that have emerged from the House impeachment inquiry.

“They talk about it like we’re all stupid, like we can’t see what’s going on,” Amash said during an interview with HuffPost.

The independent lawmaker slammed his former Republican colleagues’ refusal to accept Ambassador Gordon Sondland’s explosive testimony, which shattered Republicans’ defenses of Trump entirely.

“Sondland testified to a quid pro quo. He testified to significant details and facts,” Amash told HuffPost. “He testified that he thought it was wrong. So the inference is obvious that the President was withholding security assistance.”

HuffPost reported that Amash made those comments while riding an elevator full of Republicans.
